Eisley's much better...

So, yes, Eisley is doing so much better! Ever since we went to the dr on Wednesday, she just made a complete turn for the better! The best news is that we weighed her on Sunday, and it appeared that she had gained a pound and a half since WEDNESDAY! Yes, that is ridiculously amazing. We had to weigh her several times just to make sure there wasn't a mistake, but nope, it was true. She was weighing in at 12.6 pounds. This was amazing, and just made me laugh. Its amazing what getting over a sickness can do for an appetite. So, needless to say, I am very excited to go in for her 6 month appointment on Monday, she might finally make the percentage chart. I hope that our scale wasn't doing something weird.

So, this weekend we had a garage sale with my sister and brother. And, although they both did really well, I didn't so much. I still made 75 bucks or so. Not too bad for just stuff I could have taken to GoodWill. It always feels good to get rid of excess, and then put some cash in the pocket! This weekend, we also stated Eisley on baby food. She's been doing the rice and oatmeal cereals for awhile now, so I thought I'd start the food. We started with Green Beans. She really did pretty good. I'm going to start making her baby food too. Has anyone else done that? Surely its as simple as steaming the vegetables and pureeing them, right? And smashing up fruits? I thought that would be very "Green" of me (since it is Earth Day today!) Any advice, please throw it my way. So, here are some fun pictures of the first time with Green Beans, YUMMM! (Be warned, if you have a weak stomach, these pictures are not so pretty!) Enjoy!
Green Beans, don't they look appetizing???

I make a lot of Kayt's food. I use store bought for convenience at times, but making it is just as simple. My very favorite is sweet potatoes. I just cook it (microwave) and then serve her half. We save the rest for the next feeding and there is no need to do anything other than warm it. It's already the right consistency. Bananas and avacados are great in the 'mesh thingy' (you know what I'm talking about?) You have to cook apples first, or at least I do.

She looks like she is packing on the pounds. (In a good way, though!) Making baby food sounds like fun! I agree with the top comment...she is looking more like Mia. They both are cuties!

Yeah for gaining weight!!! Also I had to do a double-take on the last picture. I have never really thought Mia and Eisely looked that much alike, but in the last picture, I really can see it. Oh, and it looks like Megan just said that too!!! I guess I'm not crazy then!
I have your cookies done, I'll call you either Thursday night or Friday morning!

I'm really glad that she's gaining wait, but I have to say that her expression looks like the green beans just aren't doing it for her. And I agree with Eisley!!

so precious! I love the green bean look! It's the newest rave :) And I'm glad that there is living proof that a child will eat something from a spoon! She is so adorable!

Green beans are a big deal!!! Go Eisley! Let me know how the making baby food thing goes... I'd like to know! I have a friend who tried cloth diapers also... and I thought that was pretty "green"... so I'm contemplating doing some better things for the environment as well... moving makes you realize how much trash we really go through... I feel so bad throwing out all this stuff! simplify!!!
Get together soon? We're moving in a week!!! You, me, and Ashley?
I'll definitely keep up with my blog! And you too!! We'll have to get together when we come to town for the holidays and on visits, promise??!

Hi Sarah! I found your blog through Trichelle's blog. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that I made Will's baby food for a couple of months and then we went on vacation for 10 days and had to give him store bought stuff...after that, he wouldn't go back to the homemade stuff. I was bummed...but it is more convenient sometimes. It is just as easy as steaming and pureeing...the best part is you can freeze it in ice cube trays. A cube is approximately an ounce. This site is great - http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com and I wrote a blog about it here - http://pageisturned.blogspot.com/2008/01/baby-food.html. Good luck!
