Eisley's weight update...

So, we went took Eisley to the pediatrician yesterday for her weight check, and she weighed in at 8 lbs 6 oz.  I know, this is still so little for a 3 month old, but this is GREAT for her.  She is gaining her daily ounce this past week, which is exactly what the dr is waiting for.  We will continue to supplement each feeding with 2 ounces of formula, but the good news is that I don't have to supplement the very first feeding anymore, since she spits up the most in the morning.  This is very exciting for us.  I just can't wait for her to get plump.  Well, maybe she will never be plump since she's so long, but I am just ready for her to get more fat on her bones.  Soon enough.  We go in for another weight check in two weeks now instead of 4 days.  This too is much better.  She continues to do very well.  She seems to be full of smiles and "coos" a lot lately, which is my favorite part.  Thank you all for your prayers in this.  It was a hard couple of weeks, but we are definately on the up and up now.  Praise the Lord.

PS...Thanks goes out to Mandy for the very cool name tag at the top!  I adore it!

My first blog...

So, I finally decided to start a blog. I have been enjoying writing on the babysite.com website for Eisley, but then I decided that a blog would be the same thing, except really a lot cooler. I have enjoyed having a way to keep our out of town family up to date on what is going in our sweet family's life, so here I go. I will try to keep it as updated as possible and will also try to post pictures. I am really bad about remembering to take pictures because I don't feel very good at it, but I will try my hardest. So, here is what is going on in our family's life recently.

Today is Eisley's 3 month birthday. Happy Birthday Eisley. We have had a fairly rough month with Eisley. We found out 2 weeks ago that Eisley had lost half a pound since December. This is not good for such a young baby. I had a pretty hard time with this emotional at first. I thought things were going so well. I wasn't naive in thinking that Eisley was big or anything, but she was sleeping through the night at 6 1/2 weeks, eating well, and had an amazing schedule. If it hadn't been for her weight loss, we would never have known. After working with a lactation consultant and our pediatrician. We decided that it was necessary to begin supplementing every feeding with about 2 ounces of formula. Since last week, Eisley has officially gained around 7 ounces, and now weighs about 8 pounds 3 ounces now. This is very tiny for her age, but we are trying to play catch up with her weight, so hopefully this will continue to progress quickly. Now that she is gaining weight, she is nursing much better because she has more energy. Its really making a difference. Maybe soon we can stop supplementing with formula, but I am good with it now just to help her get caught up with her weight.

As for Mia, she continues to love her baby sister. The newness has worn off a bit, but she still loves her dearly. She is constantly talking to Eisley and always showing her new things. It melts my heart when Mia shows Eisley things as if they are both big girls and I am no where around. I am so thankful that I have two girls so close in age. They will be great friends. Mia is a great big sister, or should I say "mother" at times too. I am just so blessed.

Jody is doing well too. We are anxiously waiting to get the "mastered" copy of his new CD back from Nashville. We are hoping it will come tomorrow. I know its going to be amazing. We are just continuing to pray that the Lord continues to fill Jody's calendar for the Spring and Summer. He has a few dates already lined up, and I know it will be full before we even know it.

I think I am going to like blogging. I just hope that I can take the time to write often, and especially post pictures.
